Summer 2009: Crater Lake

At the beginning of August we spent a weekend camping at LaPine State Park with friends from church. During the camping trip we made a day trip to Crater Lake.

Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the USA (1943 ft) and the seventh deepest in the world. It is amazingly beautiful because of the steep cliffs which surround it and the intense blue color of the water. The day that we visited was cold and overcast. We hope to visit again someday when we will have time to hike and take the boat tour.

Geez, we've lived here 5 years and still haven't made it to Crater Lake. It looks beautiful!
