With all the disappointments and chaos of the Tour de France this year, Axel has still decided that he wishes to be a professional cyclist. Tonight we loaded up the bicycles and set a record for a family ride in which Axel was actually riding his own bike. 6 Miles! He was so proud!!! Most of the trail was unpaved and yet he was a trooper the entire way and even sprinted to the finish. Now that Axel Merckx is retiring perhaps the time is right for another Axel to enter the scene. :-) The photo was taken yesterday. Carter is showing off his new bicycle helmet.
