For 10 days in July it was a festival of Clear boys around our house! Troy's cousin, Chris Clear, his wife Sue, and sons Talmon, Nicanor, Zaavan, & Kadmiel drove out from Waterloo, Indiana to visit the Oregon Clears. We had an amazing visit! I have always enjoyed Chris and Sue at the Clear Family reunions, but really did not know them very well. I was thrilled when they called to say that they were going to accept our invitation to visit this summer!
Needless to say, it was an exciting time with 6 boys ages 3 - 11. Within 5 minutes of their arrival there was an official sparring tournament taking place on the driveway with our entire stock of light sabers and foam swords! If anyone doesn't believe there are inherent behavioral differences between boys and girls - you should have been here to observe that week!!!
We were able to visit Silver Falls State Park, hike the Salmon River, we got sandblasted at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City - but the tour of the Tillamook Dairy (with samples) redeemed the day, we took the train downtown and the boys went rock climbing at REI, we finished off the week at Mt. St. Helens, Ape Cave, and Trail of Two Forests in WA state. Sue introduced us to audio books in the van! I was not sure it would hold my boys' attention, but they LOVED it and we have kept one in the car ever since!
Thank you Chris & Sue for travelling cross-country to visit us! Now our boys have great memories with their "boy cousins" from Indiana!
