Super Ski Day!

We went skiing today at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. It was one of my favorite days of skiing ever!!! Troy took the day off work. Axel had the day off school. The weather was great. Our friends Josh, Kyle, and Nathan met us there.

Axel took off like a ski super-kid! Not only did he ski all by himself, he did turns, hockey stops (kind-of), and ... are you ready for this grandparents... he did jumps! It is amazing the influence of a 10-year old friend can make on a semi-timid, 6-year old skier! Lisa skied with Kyle and Axel while Troy skied with Carter (on a harness) and Josh skied with Nathan (also on a harness).

Carter made huge improvements as well. Although he stayed on the harness all day he was doing turns all by himself. At the very end of the day Carter took full advantage of the harness by getting a tow back to the lodge. (see photo). This was Nathan's first time skiing and he did great!

Best of all, everyone had great attitudes and all the kids were encouraging each other! It was wonderful! I hope we can repeat it many times in the future!!! :-)

Wow, that looks like so much fun! Soon Zac will be skiing, and we'll have to come along, well maybe not for a few years! :-) Then Lidia and I will have to ski together because there won't even be any kids left to ski our pace!!!

Well, I didn't mean to say that there won't be any kids left. Just that there won't be any left that we could keep up with :-)
