Our Thanksgiving holiday started with some excitement at our house. I got home from work to find Lisa working on a cherry pie for Thanksgiving dinner with our friends Phil and Elisa Gaskill. The boys were excited about a Superhero video from the library. I was just happy to be home for a long weekend. Then the excitement started with Lisa put a wrong ingredient into the cherry pie filling. She throw herself forward and hit her head on a cabinet door and broke out into laughter telling us that she had put rum extract in the pie rather than almond extract. Then after deciding the pie was not ruined a thud followed by a cry from the living room grabbed our attention. Carter was getting up from the carpet and the piano bench had been displaced a few inches. The 3/4 inch gash in his head was bleeding and we hurried to get a cold compress. It turned into a trip to the Gresham urgent care and a skin staple. The doctor assured me that studies showed that one skin staple with no anesthesia was superior to several shots and stitches. Carter was brave. The doctor told him he would feel a pinch and he might want to cry. Carter said, "Ow" and elected not to cry.

Ouch!!! Carter, you look SO brave!
Wow!! Carter is one brave boy, and so are his parents! We're glad everything worked out and hope that you still had a good Thanksgiving. If you want to know what a "real" cherry pie should taste like, just ask Darwin :)
Wow, maybe he needs to come to where I work and show the adults how it is done!!! A lot braver than some of the adults that I see!
