On Saturday Sept 15th the boys went for their first boat ride. Our friends the Coppoms took us out on their family friendly pontoon boat on the Columbia river. When he was 2 years old Skyler Coppom named the craft the Yubby. Axel and Carter were able to "captain" the boat for a few minutes as we headed up river to the beach at a park in Washugal WA. The day was a little cloudy so we built a fire on the beach. Carter enjoyed holding his breath and running back and forth through the smoke of the fire. I thought he was a safe distance but as it turned out he burned his hair and eye lashes. His hair curled up on the ends(see photo). Everyone enjoyed riding the wave runner. Lisa was so excited riding that we could hear her giggles over the roar of the motor as she speed down the river. She was ready to purchase a used wave runner by the end of the day! No purchase yet. The Lord has certainly blessed us with friends and enjoyable experiences here in Oregon.
